Certainly there are many examples of the potential of sport to promote dialogues, interactions, friendships, cooperations and perhaps even temporary peace. The successful hosting of almost any international sporting event is evidence of this, as are the wide range of United Nations and other “sport for peace and development” initiatives that have emerged over the past few decades. One of our team members was part of the discussion panel during high level meeting in Jakarta 2018, where South Korea and North Korea formed a unified Basketball team for the Asian Games 2018, Jakarta, Indonesia.
